Verian
2025 - CURRENT
Verian is a world leading, purpose-led and independent research, evidence, evaluation, and communications agency, providing services to government and the public realm. With their researchers working with some difficult subjects -- family violence, consent and sexual assault --, they reached out to Lilly Pilly for some help in preventing and responding to vicarious trauma. We responded by talking through their needs and developing a bespoke service offering of group based pre-project skills and resilience training and post-project debriefing as well as one to one support for individual researchers as required.
Testimonial: "Working across complex research environments, Verian’s staff often engage directly with citizens on difficult issues that are sensitive, personal and, at times, confronting. This work requires care, judgement and emotional resilience, particularly where conversations touch on safety, health, identity, trauma or lived experience. In this context, Lilly Pilly Counselling have been an ideal partner. Through their training and debriefing support, they help our people engage safely and with care, while maintaining perspective in demanding situations. Their approach supports our teams to continue delivering high-quality work in a way that is sustainable over time.”

CESPHN - PSS at La Perouse Aboriginal Land Council
2024 - CURRENT
Lilly Pilly partnered with CESPHN to develop a new approach for the La Perouse Aboriginal community, in response to long-standing barriers to accessing and sustaining care. Traditional models were not working, with high rates of missed appointments and services that did not reflect cultural needs or lived experience.
We designed and introduced a flexible, employment-based model that delivers culturally safe, trauma-informed psychological support within the community. It includes drop-in, same-day, and planned appointments, with flexible session lengths in settings that feel safe and appropriate. The model focuses on building trust through strong community engagement and partnerships with local services. This approach improves access, supports continuity of care, and strengthens long-term wellbeing outcomes.
